The next EP on the Hearing Colours label features the duo FAER with four original productions by the duo. FAER is Felipe Valenzuela and Argenis Brito - the two are long time friends showcasing their talent on these heavy dance-floor bombs not too long after their previous release on Raum Music, with the “Internal Jokes And Other Matters'' EP. From the beginning “The Fraud Era” is even sharper - its sound is crisp, essential yet not minimalistic.

As the opener ‘Space Cuts’ sets the tone for the stylistic features of the record with its heavy, punchy bass-snare combination, the indeed spacy synth melodies give a spaceship-messaging-central-base feeling to the track aesthetic. Next up our favourite on the EP ‘Trick Or Trick’, which we are glad to premiere in full here, strikes. Heavy and funky, playful and strong, with layered patterns forming a complex groove throughout its arrangements, this track touches on all the right points we look for in an underground groover nowadays. ‘Trick On Trick’ comes just in time to hit all the Halloween dance-floors.

On the B-side the duo experiments on different vibes with a similar sound imprint. The B1 ‘Immersion’ shapes a quasi-industrial electro scenery. Probably because of the name of this track combined with how it sounds, this one feels heavily Drexciya-referred. Title-track ‘The Fraud Era’ closes the release with faster tempo experimentation with complex patterns and ever-changing rhythmic composition. Bonus - we loved the use of the vocoder on this one which is mixed to fit the overall aesthetic of the track instead of taking over. This is probably our favourite on the EP after ‘Trick Or Trick’.

The blossoming Hearing Colours label is co-founded by Felipe Valenzuela and Max Kraushaar. The EP is distributed by Berlin-based OTG Distribution.
