8 Atmospheric Ambient Mixes to Unwind in the Winter
As 2020 proceeds to an end with the common hope of better times ahead, we could all use a moment to unwind and recharge. We hope you’ll be able to with these recordings from Nathalia, E/Tape, Miss I, Gyorgy Ono, Melina Serser, Young Marco, Baby Vulture, and Maybe Laura.
We don’t want to bore you, so we avoided sticking only to beatless ambient and included some mixes with more experimental, music concréte or downtempo bits - for example, the ‘Jam On The Moon’ recording is a live session from with pianist Julien Quentin, violist Adrien Boisseau, DJ e/tape and Adrien de Maublanc on modular synths. Or Daniela Huerta’s (aka Baby vulture) mix at Sameheads in Berlin, moving towards so many directions from free jazz to post-punk influences that it can’t be boxed into a definition.
But no sudden pounding techno, we promise.
