8 Major Track Inspirations For Arnic

The spanish prodige picks 8 tracks that majorly influenced his sound to celebrate his latest tresydos release

Hailing originally from the Canary Islands, and now based in Madrid, Arnic has recently been cutting out his well-deserved space in the underground scene thanks to unapologetically funky DJs sets combined with a series of instantly remarkable productions. His latest effort in regards to studio work is a full record on tresydos, which brings his signature fun tech-house sounds to the next level, but at the same explores different takes on it such as slower tempo tracks.

To celebrate this release and get to know better who is Arnic, we reached out to him directly and asked for a bunch of tracks that served as a major inspiration in his music path. Enjoy the ride!

Track previews from his tresydos record:

Jennifer Lara - I’m In Love

I always enjoy this timeless track, the production behind and Jennifer’s voice makes it one of those unique tracks I can just never get tired of. Such a classic.

The System - Almost Grown

The System has been a source of inspiration for a long time, but ‘Almost Grown’ is probably my favourite ever. The sunset car ride vibe on this one is really touching to me.

The Smiths - How Soon Is Now?

The anti-progression and the melodies on ‘How Soon Is Now?’ are a good way to define why I like this kind of song. It was the track that introduced me to The Smiths, marking a pivotal moment in the way I was understanding music at the time.

New Muzik - Warp

New Muzik’s sound is a really interesting and inspiring one for me. This track, ‘Warp’, is one of my favourites, and probably the most related to my musical taste in production and selections.

Omar S - Thank U 4 Letting Me Be Myself

Omar S was one of the first producers that made me want to go deeper into music and start making it too. This track was unconsciously one of the biggest sources of inspiration to me.

Cassie - Me & U

The 2000s sound just haunts me. It’s a completely different angle of my musical taste that has probably also inspired me in some way during the passage of time.

Brian Eno - Over Fire Island

I love the tension in this one from Brian Eno. His way of understanding music makes him one of the sources of sounds that have taken me to perceive what I do in a different way.

Sade - Pearls

No need to introduce Sade. In this track, her voice went on a different level to me, together with the production. It’s one of my favourite tracks of all time, the progression on it and the complete atmosphere around it makes it feel like a 1-minute track every time I listen to it. I just love this one.
