STUCK Magazine’s New Printed Edition Is Out, Featuring Our Interview With ISAbella

We look at the future of clubbing with the Maricas founder, in a special collaboration with Stuck Magazine

Underground clubbing: where hedonistic spirit, individual self-expression and obsessive music curation meet. Here spheres collide - is it all about the music? Or is going to underground parties all about drug-taking and sex? Or is it about creating spaces where people can truly express themselves? One thing is certain: the difference between this type of multi-faced, international system has its roots in the people and collectives that cultivate and protect individual micro-scenes, where non-mainstream music is celebrated and alternative ways of self-affirmation are welcomed. Projects such as Maricas, founded by ISAbella, Eloisa Blitzer and Gina Guasch, perfectly embody what underground clubbing strives to be: a place of fun but also teaching and learning, a place of pleasure yet also culture. Maricas is an “LGBTQ+, techno, pervy and loving party and collective” founded in Barcelona in 2018. The collective creates a home for queer individuals and artists, a safe space for self-expression and music which are vital to keep underground clubbing alive.

For our collaboration with STUCK Magazine, we sat down with ISAbella to talk about the future of clubbing, where the scene is going, what should change and what will inevitably change, and the relationship between materiality and sound for underground music artists.

The interview can be found in full in print only, you can book your copy of the next edition of Stuck Magazine here

Berlin-based STUCK Magazine provides an independent platform for underrepresented artists from across the globe to present their work, and collaboratively explore both their creative practices and personal philosophies. By fusing the exploration of independent, contemporary art with journalistic storytelling we explore those subcultures which shape modern life. We believe in an aesthetic of truth, without boundaries, geographies or cultural limitations. STUCK proposes a new way into the varied artistic dialects of the imagination, one that is simultaneously expansive and tangible.

For the new issue, individual artists that come from various disciplines find their place in the magazine - to adorn the outcome with their individual backgrounds, visions and opinions. This leads the reader through a subworld of eight impressive chapters that inspire by disclosing alternate modes of expression and stirring the imagination about worlds that are beyond ours. The edition talks about the complexity and challenges of self-expression in today’s world, about the impact of hyperused technologies and on future civilisations, about the transformative development of subcultures, and much more.
