Pheek Puts Out “Millefolium”: A Foray Into Ambient Music

The latest release by the Canadian producer is as captivating as it is evocative

While Jean-Patrice Rémillard a.k.a. Pheek is usually known for his reverberating beats, in the past couple of years he’s been so prolific that he was bound to publish records that some might find unusual coming from him. Indeed, Millefolium, out on Canadian label Archipel, is less on the danceable side of things, and more on the atmospheric, evocative, ethereal side. You may even call it ambient music if you like.

For sure, the album boasts Pheek’s highly curated sound design, the same you’ll find in his minimal techno productions; and if you’ll let the music entice you, you might even encounter some echo of a beat wandering around the vaporous soundscape. Just do yourself a favor and listen to Millefolium on good-quality speakers - it’s sure to be a rewarding experience!
