Metropolitan Soul Museum Launches ‘Kulture Galerie’ ’s Release Series This March

The radio show morphs into a label with the release of its first VA

The London-based duo Metropolitan Soul Museum has been running a radio live show every two months for a year now - this is Kulture Galerie, a broadcast based on giving an opportunity to a different invited guest every episode to select non-dance-oriented listening music. Other than this, the artist invited is able to mix in different types of music, from different eras and provenience.

The Kulture Galerie concept is now naturally evolving into the label’s world - each guest called for the year is now presenting an original tracks, to be all released under a VA curated by Metropolitan Soul Museum. 'Kulture Galerie Year 1' will be out this March on limited number of CDs distributed by Lobster Distribution and mastered by Nerang and Gestalt's Nørus. The release overall strikes not only for its variety but also for curating a rather specific taste for six artists put together by the original radio-show concept; on the contrary of the broadcast, the tracks might surprise you with some heavier electronic beats - I am thinking for example of the reflective but moving rhythms of Aspetruck’s ‘Where’s My Waterbottle’, the striking single notes arpeggios of Exo Man’s ‘Ghosts’ or the bouncy echoed groove of the closing track ‘Introspection’ by Deeprhythms. At the same time the tasteful release feels curated for home-listenings as well - for example the opening ‘Reflexion’ by HRZL puts together a powerful ambient sound barrier where synth lines battle each other in a climax 5 minutes enthralling climax. Or Ad St’s ‘Liquid Honey’ providing a minimalistic drum and bass piece of pure bliss.

To present the release we are glad to premiere in full our favourite from the release - the deep and delightful ‘Monet’s Haystacks’ by none other than Metropolitan Soul Museum themselves. This track softly progresses on an hypnotic steady beat with a combination of dreamy chords and melodies. As something that you could be absorbed into while listening at home as well as dancing to it on a dancefloor, we feel it perfectly represents the versatility and listening purpose of the concept original Kulture Galerie concept.
