Mysterious Imprint MCLTD Is Back With A Top Class Record

The label, now at its third release, presents a timeless dancefloor oriented style with mesmerising uniqueness in each track

MCLTD is an ultimate example of a music over everything else concept: you just don’t know anything about this record. There are no artists names, no cheesy track presentation, no label origin story and vision. When all of this is taken away, you’re just left with the quirky track names initiating curiosity, but most of all the music. This mysterious envelope creates an urge to focus on the sounds, feeling the tracks and catching on any stylistic nuance and reference during the listening.

This third record comes with three tracks with different vibes and rather peculiar sounds - you’ll get a taste of the record’s originality immediately with the eccentric and clubbable ‘Frogs On Acid (Donnie’s Extra Sauce Edit). While the goofy bassline and dog bark sample push the playfulness to the max, the track production comes across as top notch, with a distinctive percussive rhythm and very sour acid synths forming a one of a kind groove you don’t hear everyday. Flip the record, and the B-side opens with what’s probably our favourite on the release. ‘Jayvolution (Echoes Of Earth Edit)’ hits like a tornado, with its steady breaky rhythm, brain-melting synth combinations and an orchestra hit placed just in the right part of the loop. And the closing B2 doesn’t let down: ‘Prrrrrogressive (Echoes Of Earth Edit)’ (we hope we nailed the number of ‘r’s in the title), is an enjoyable groovy ride through punchy snares and soulful organs looped in rave mode.

It’s not an overstatement to affirm that for us, this rapidly goes as one of the best records of the year. This is a dancefloor record aimed for fun and quality, that doesn’t shy away from creative stylistic choices to create different types of grooves than the usual.
We are very happy to exclusively present the B1 in full here, ‘Jayvolution (Echoes Of Earth Edit)’. We can only hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

MCLTD003 was released on the 15th of November.
