Philip Biedermann’s Smashing ‘My Space + Reality’ EP Is Out This Month

The four-tracker encloses some of the best raw and modern underground techno we heard in a while

‘TMD001’ Cover

Each of the four tracks of the new Philip Biedermann’s EP sounds like it could have been ID'd straight from the latest Nicolas Lutz set - with "My Space + Reality“, released this summer on his newly founded label “The Machine Dream”, the Frankfurt-based DJ/Producer delivers a hard-hitting and qualitative dancefloor work.

Starting with the opener ’Sticky’, the sounds are raw, and the mood is dark but uplifting. At the same there’s something epic about the arrangements of this one track - ’Sticky’ builds on a powerful contrast between neat and fast synth arpeggios, a fast house beat and monumental pad chords leading up to a much felt climax. Next up it’s our favourite from the EP, which we are very glad to premiere on our channels in full - ‘It’s A Keeper’ follows with a similar sound but a slightly more minimalistic vibe. The bass and synths are all on point, creating a wonderful catching groove upon the landmark sound of Philip.

The b-side opens with perhaps the most ‘aggressive’ side on the EP: ‘Rodium’ doesn’t hold back on its heavy snares, hypnotic raw bass and quasi-noise stab hits. Surely a cherry on top for some hot club's peak hour madness. Closing off the EP we have ‘Mental Sundowner’ featuring Alex Eric Schwarzbrunn, a dark house cruise which nicely wraps up the style of the EP as rawly powerful.

Philip Biedermann, producer of the record

Overall, with this record we get a clear sense of what’s to come from Philip Biedermann - the EP has a clear artistic direction and a unique sound that very well aligns with some of the most obscure house and techno corners of the underground right now. At the same time it delivers pure production quality - it’s a work which we highly recommend putting your hands on in sight of sweaty clubs' season starting soon.
